- Kirche am Steinhof
Description
Kirche am Steinhof, located in the grounds of the Psychiatric Hospital of the City of Vienna, is renowned as Otto Wagner's greatest masterpiece. His Art Nouveau style sparked fierce debate upon completion in 1907, as it was purposely planned to be situated away from the city centre. However, this church has since gained recognition as the first sensible example of Vienna's secessionist architecture. Its glittering copper dome can be seen for miles.
