No trip to Vienna is complete without a visit to the renowned Kunsthistorisches Museum. Its neoclassical building is a sight to behold in and of itself, and it is brimming with pieces by some of the most influential European painters, sculptors and artisans throughout history. From Classical Rome to Egypt, and from the Renaissance to the modern day, the museum's collection is awe-inspiring. Those with limited time should definitely dedicate at least an hour or two to the old masters in the Gemäldegalerie (Picture Gallery).
