Description

MAK is dedicated to the craftsmanship and artistry of everyday life. Art fans can peruse a range of room styles, including Renaissance, Baroque, Orientalism, Historicism, Empire, Art Deco and the intricate metalwork of the Wiener Werkstätte. To make the gallery even more captivating, contemporary artists have been asked to interpret the exhibits in their own creative ways. Of particular note is the 20th-century design and architecture room, which features Frank Gehry's iconic cardboard chair.
