Description

One of Beethoven’s many Vienna residences

Pasqualati House is the building Ludwig van Beethoven resided in (off and on) from 1804 to 1814. He spent 35 years in Vienna, or very near by, and lived in 60 different locations. The Pasqualati House's claim to fame is, Beethoven composed Fidelio and his 4th, 5th, and 7th symphonies here.

At the Pasqualati House you can see some personal effects like family photographs and memorabilia. Most interesting to musicians and composers are Beethoven’s composition scores. Be advised that Beethoven’s apartment is on the 4th floor of the building and there is no elevator. Many will agree, it’s worth the climb.
