Description
The iconic Stephansdom in Vienna, fondly referred to as Steffl (Little Stephan), is one of the city's most treasured masterpieces. This Gothic church has stood on the same spot since the 12th century, evinced by the Romanesque Riesentor (Giant Gate) and Heidentürme (Towers of the Heathens). Visitors are awed by the stunning tiled roof, with its pattern of exquisite chevrons and Austrian eagle, while inside they are captivated by Anton Pilgrim's 1515 creation – the magnificent Gothic stone pulpit adorning the main nave.
